Jim Neal Memorial Edgerton Decoy and Sporting Collectibles Show NEXT DECOY SHOW Date: Saturday February 10th, 2024 Time: Vendor Setup begins at 6:30 AM Show runs from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM Location: Tri-County Community Center 112 Swift Street, Edgerton, WI 53534 This small town Wisconsin Decoy Show is a must stop for all collectors, carvers, and enthusiasts! The Edgerton area is home to the infamous Lake Koshkonong - formed by the construction of the Indianford Dam in 1846, the lake is situated on the Rock River acting as an impoundment of the river. Before the construction of the dam the area now covered by the lake was part of a very large rice field with water so shallow and rice so thick it looked more like a meadow than a lake. Accounts written at the time describe millions of ducks landing in the field to eat the rice, at times almost covering the sun and darkening the sky. For over 125 years, decoys that resemble decoys made in the Susquehanna Flats area of Chesapeake Bay have been found in the Koshkonong Area of Wisconsin's Rock River Basin. Our Decoy Show, originally put on by Jim Neal , has been showcasing these amazing decoys for over 20 years. Each year we ask members of the community to bring in their Koshkonong Decoys to create a display of the area's history.
